Virginia Tech is among the select schools that lay claim to the title of "DBU," so new coach Justin Fuente decided to keep the Hokies’ secondary coach on staff.
The school announced Thursday that defensive backs coach Torrian Gray, who served under former coach Frank Beamer since 2006, will be a part of Fuente’s new staff. Gray joins defensive coordinator Bud Foster and defensive line coach Charley Wiles as holdovers from Beamer’s staff. Wiles' hiring was also announced Thursday.
A lot of hired coaches opt to clean house and bring in an entirely new staff, but Fuente realized what he inherited with Gray.
