A terrific regular season ended painfully for the Virginia Tech softball team on Friday. The third-seeded Hokies led second-seeded Clemson 9-2 heading into the bottom of the sixth inning. Unfortunately, the Hokies couldn’t find the strike zone, and the Tigers scored eight runs, taking a 10-9 lead.
That’s how things ended for Virginia Tech in the ACC Tournament. However, on Sunday, it was time for the next step in VT’s 2025 softball season: The NCAA Division I Softball Championship.
The Hokies finished the season with a 41-11 record, including an 18-6 mark in ACC play. They were consistently ranked among the country’s top 25 teams.
