The Virginia Tech Hokies’ softball squad did what it does best on Thursday, pitching another shutout, defeating the North Carolina Tar Heels 4-0 in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament.
The stars were out for the Hokies as ACC Player of the Year Cori McMillan knocked in two runs and senior pitcher Emma Lemley threw a one-hit gem, striking out six to pick up her 17th (17-6) win of the season.

The shutout was Tech’s 21st of the season, which is tied for first in the nation.
