The Virginia Tech Board of Visitors approved the renaming of the Hokie football team's locker room from Team United Locker Room to The Frank Beamer Locker Room. This is the second naming honor the university has bestowed on the legendary coach within the last year. In 2015 the former Spring Road was renamed Beamer Way.
Frank Beamer stated his appreciation in a release.
"The heart and soul of Virginia Tech football resides within the young men who will use this locker room. The locker room is a place where lifelong friendships form and teams grow stronger together.
