Virginia Tech men's basketball coach Mike Young is gearing up for not only the 2025-26 season, but also recruiting in the class with fall visits. One player in the class released the five schools that he's narrowed his recruiting down to, and the Hokies and Young made the cut.
Four-star shooting guard Dakari Spear narrowed his list down to Virginia Tech, Syracuse, Vanderbilt, Texas Tech, and Texas A&M. The 6-foot-4 Dallas, Texas native is the 67th-ranked prospect in his class and is coming off a junior season last winter where he averaged 23 points a night while shooting 55% from the field.
