Virginia Tech Hokies Name Josh Jackson Starting QB

On Monday second year head coach Justin Fuente named redshirt freshmen Josh Jackson to be the starting quarterback against the West Virginia Mountaineers.

As Gobbler Country discussed recently, the 6’1”, 215 lbs., Ann-Arbor native seemed to be in a rather close competition against JUCO transfer A.J. Bush and freshmen Hendon Hooker. Last year Jackson and Jerod Evans were fighting for the starting spot throughout the majority of the off-season. Evans wasn't named the starter until about one week prior to kickoff.

Jackson had this to say regarding his preparation, "I like to say I'm pretty smart when it comes to knowing defenses and looks and everything like that.
