The Virginia Tech Hokies were originally scheduled to open the 2020 season on Sept. 12 against the North Carolina State Wolfpack after the ACC announced revised schedules last month. The Wolfpack had to push the game back due to COVID-19 concerns.
Then, the Hokies were expected to open the season on Sept. 19 against in-state rival Virginia. This time, it was the Hokies who needed to push the game back due to COVID-19.
Now, the Hokies are trying to start the season this Saturday with the aforementioned N.C. State in Blacksburg.
