The Virginia Tech Hokies lost a member of the 2018 recruiting class on Saturday as three-star offensive Jordan McFadden de-committed and chose Clemson. This was expected by the Virginia Tech coaching staff as the Hokies have been working to get other offensive tackles into the 2018 class.
McFadden, from Dorman High in Roebuck, South Carolina, chose the Hokies over Duke on July 4. However, things appeared to change on August 1 when Clemson offered McFadden. The Tigers slow-played McFadden throughout most of the fall or this likely would’ve happened sooner.
McFadden is a solid prospect, but Walker Culver, a 6’6”, 273-pound offensive tackle from Chattanooga, Tennessee, is a player this staff covets.
