Several Virginia Tech players have entered the NCAA transfer portal since it opened earlier this month. Outside of tight end Dae’Quan Wright, most of those who entered were backups or players looking for more opportunities. We haven’t yet seen someone coming to Blacksburg from the transfer portal.
That changed Thursday, as offensive lineman Montavious Cunningham announced his commitment to the Hokies.

The 6-foot-3, 305-pound Cunningham comes to Blacksburg from Georgia Southern and picked the Hokies over Texas Tech.
