Virginia Tech football: Hokies flip offensive tackle from Big Ten

The Virginia Tech Hokies and head football coach Brent Pry scored a big win Monday, landing the commitment of offensive tackle Tyrell Simpson. Not only does it keep the Hokies hot on the recruiting trail, but Tech had to work a little harder on this one.

The 6-foot-7, 310-pound Simpson was committed to the Rutgers Scarlet Knights of the Big Ten. A native of Leland, North Carolina, Simpson maintained a close bond with new VT offensive line coach Matt Moore from when he was the OL coach at West Virginia.

Simpson committed to the Scarlet Knights on May 31.
