Former Oregon transfer Braxton Burmeister started the first three games at quarterback for Virginia Tech in 2020. For the most part, Burmeister had the offense rolling with big performances in wins on N.C. State and Duke.
However, in the game at North Carolina last week, Burmeister struggled a bit in the first half of Tech’s 56-45 loss to the Tar Heels and head coach Justin Fuente inserted Hendon Hooker back into the lineup.
On Monday, Fuente spoke with the media and left no doubts that Hooker will be under center this weekend in Blacksburg when the Hokies host 3-1 Boston College.
