The Virginia Tech Hokies released an updated roster over the weekend over at hokiesports.com and there wasn’t a lot of surprises. However, one thing did stand out: freshman quarterback DeJuan Ellis is now a wide receiver.
This shouldn’t come as a shock to anyone. Ellis was a good high school quarterback, but for many who watched him play, they always felt his best position at the collegiate level would be receiver. This was not a knock on Ellis’ ability under center. However, at 5’11”, 171 pounds, he didn’t possess prototypical quarterback size, especially if he wanted a career in the NFL.
