Virginia Tech football: Christian Darrisaw is named to the AP All-American team

Christian Darrisaw came to Virginia Tech in 2018 as a low three-star recruit from Riverdale Baptist High in Upper Marlboro, Maryland.

The 6-foot-5, 290-pound Darrisaw chose the Hokies over schools such as Central Connecticut State and Delaware State. And, after one year at Fork Union, Darrisaw came to Blacksburg and made an immediate impact in 2018.

Now, three seasons later, Darrisaw is an Associated Press second-team All-American. Last week, Darrisaw was named first-team All-ACC.

Darrisaw was a big reason why Virginia Tech’s offensive line was one of the best in the country in 2020. Whether it was protecting his quarterback’s blind side or being the lead blocker for Khalil Herbert, Darrisaw was absolutely dominant in 2020 and chose to forgo his final year of eligibility last week and enter the 2021 NFL draft.
