Two former Virginia Tech Hokies landed new NFL jobs on Tuesday.
Kicker Joey Slye, the record-setting former Hokie, signed a deal with the 49ers. San Francisco’s kicker, veteran Robbie Gould, went on injured reserve this week, and Slye will kick for the 49ers this week.

Slye, who was Virginia Tech’s kicker from 2014-17, spent the last two seasons with the Carolina Panthers before he was released in August.
