It was a quiet beginning to the 2025 MLB Draft for the Virginia Tech baseball program, but it ended with a flurry of picks. At the backend of the draft, the Hokies had four members of the 2025 team selected, including former pitcher Griffin Stieg, who transferred to Alabama earlier this month, picked.
Now, it remains to be seen if any of the picks choose to sign, and the big one is Jared Davis, who was picked by the Athletics. If he decides to go pro, which wouldn't be surprising, then that would leave a big hole on the roster and multiple positions next season for John Szefc.
