Mike Young’s young Hokies were brought back down to reality. After an impressive six game winning streak to open the year, observers were (rightfully) adjusting their opinions and expectations of Virginia Tech this season. They didn’t look like a team that would finish 14th in the ACC. Nor had people expected Landers Nolley and Nahiem Alleyne to get off to such a great start to their collegiate careers.
Then came Dayton. Then BYU. Then a brutal second half against Duke. Suddenly the perfect 6-0 start, was at 6-3 and a team searching for consistency. To be fair the team is young - both in their academic class and time together as a group.
