The Virginia Tech Hokies basketball team tipped off the 2017/18 season off in grand fashion at Cassell Coliseum tonight. The Hokies hosted Detroit Mercy in a non con affair, and Virginia Tech started the season off with a bang. The game was tight early, but the talent at Virginia Tech eventually took over. There are high expectations for Buzz Williams and crew this season. The Hokies got to the dance last season, but were bounced in the first round.
