Virginia Tech basketball: Hokies struggle in return to action, fall to Georgia Tech

The No. 16 Virginia Tech Hokies returned to the court on Tuesday after a 17-day layoff and struggled in a 69-53 loss to Georgia Tech in Blacksburg.

It was clear the layoff affected the Hokies, as they looked sluggish on both ends of the floor, struggled from the field, and turned the ball over 16 times in the loss.

There was optimism for the Hokies entering the game as sophomore guard Tyrece Radford returned to action from a suspension last month. Radford scored 11 points for the Hokies. Unfortunately, Virginia Tech was still without sharpshooting guard Jalen Cone due to a nagging ankle injury.
