Virginia Tech basketball coach Mike Young continues to fill out his 2025 roster. Since the end of the 2024-25 season in March, the Hokies endured another roster reset, but managed to keep the core of the players they hoped to retain, such as Tobi Lawal, Ben Hammond, Tyler Johnson and Jaden Schutt.
Young has been busy in the transfer portal, adding three talented transfers and an international big man to the class. The Hokies also signed a pair of high school players and, on Tuesday, added another.
Brett Freeman, a 6-foot-4 guard from Charlotte, North Carolina, announced his commitment to Virginia Tech.
