Virginia Tech basketball: Hokies cruise past Coppin State

The Virginia Tech Hokies defeated the Coppin State Eagles, 97-57, on Saturday afternoon at Cassell Coliseum.

The Hokies enjoyed their best shooting night of the young season, connecting on 54 percent of their three-point attempts, shooting a ridiculous 20 of 37 from beyond the arc.

As a team, Tech shot almost 52 percent from the field.

A total of 13 Hokies played, with 10 players scoring in this win. Nahiem Alleyne and Jalen Cone led the Hokies with 18 points apiece. The two sophomore guards combined to shoot 10 of 20 from three-point range.

Forward Keve Aluma scored 12 points and pulled down 7 rebounds, while Hunter Cattoor chipped in with 11 points.
