Virginia Tech basketball: Head coach Mike Young makes an appearance on the Jim Rome Show

When the Virginia Tech Hokies hired Mike Young as head basketball coach in 2019, some who follow the program were disappointed athletic director Whit Babcock didn’t land a bigger “name.”

In his second year in charge of the Hokies, Young has Virginia Tech at 15-5 on the season, including a 9-4 mark in ACC play. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic has overshadowed much of the good work Young and his team has done this season.

Young, a Radford native who played his college basketball at Emory & Henry, spent 30 years at Wofford, including 17 as head coach.
