Virginia Tech did not have to wait very long to hear that they were going dancing. And they did not have to wait much longer after that to discover that they would be the No. 8 seed in the East region, matched up with No. 9 seed Alabama Crimson Tide.
It will not be easy for the Hokies. Alabama boasts one of the best freshmen in the nation in point guard Collin Sexton, who carried the Crimson into the big dance with two heroic performances in the SEC Tournament. As the old adage says, guard play wins tournament games.
