Three Hokies Earn ACC Player of the Week Honors

With the renewal of the Black Diamond rivalry and Virginia Tech’s 31-24 win over No. 22 West Virginia, three Hokies earned ACC Player of the Week accolades.

Freshman Quarterback Josh Jackson earned Rookie of the Week in his debut at the position. Jackson posted 336 yards of total offense and two touchdowns. Jackson threw for 235 yards and rushed a total of 101 yards, making him the first quarterback to surpass 200 yards in the air and 100 yards on the ground since Logan Thomas in 2013. Jackson’s play of the game was a 46 yard rush that set up the go-ahead score with 6:30 left in the game in addition to a 5 yd touchdown run.
