AMES, Iowa - Led by all-American Thomas Curtin, each member of the Virginia Tech track & field distance runners recorded a personal best time on Friday at the Iowa State Classic.
Not only did Curtin win the 5,000-meter run, but he also reset his previous program record recorded last year with a time of 13:37.10.
“Thomas Curtin had an outstanding performance winning the 5,000-meter run with a new personal best,” head cross country and distance coach Ben Thomas said. “After this weekend, it should be a top-five time, if not the national leader.
