The Hokies ended 2017 on a bad note, but look to start 2018 off right with a win against archrival No. 8 Virginia (12-1/1-0). The Hoos come into this game with an impressive 12-1 record, fresh off a 59-58 win over the up-and-coming Boston College Eagles. Meanwhile, the Hokies were embarrassed at Syracuse, dropping their conference opener 68-56. Virginia has lost each of their last two matchups in Cassell, but with the students on winter break, it is tough to see home court having a significant impact on the game. Of course, we all remember last year’s double overtime thriller which ended with a Seth Allen game winner:
