MELBOURNE, FLORIDA – Virginia Tech fell to the Butler Bulldogs 79-77 Friday night from Titan Field House in Melbourne, Fla. The loss is the Hokies’ lone blemish on the season, dropping their record to 5-1, while Butler advanced to 4-2 on the season.
The Hokies came out and allowed the first two buckets of the game, and throughout the first quarter found themselves down by as much as nine.
Kendyl Brooks, once again hit two three-pointers in the opening frame, providing a spark for the Hokies.
At the break, the game was tied after Tech went on a late 16-9 run to close the gap.
