BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech senior LB Anthony Shegog has earned the distinction of wearing Frank Beamer’s No. 25 for the No. 21 Hokies’ season opener vs. No. 22 West Virginia at FedExField on Sunday.
Sunday’s game will be the Stafford, Va., native’s second time wearing the honorary number in his career. His first time wearing No. 25 came in Tech’s 37-16 Thursday night victory over Miami at Lane Stadium on Oct. 20, 2016.
Shegog turned in a career performance vs. Arkansas in the Belk Bowl where he posted six tackles, a sack, his first career interception and a forced fumble.
