CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. - Reigning national champion Irena Sediva led the Virginia Tech track & field team with a first place finish in the javelin, breaking two records on Saturday at the Virginia Challenge.
Sediva’s 55.96-meter (183-7) throw not only won the event, but also ranks her fourth in the nation. Additionally, Sediva's mark set a new Virginia Challenge and Lannigan Field record on Saturday.
In the same event, Eva Vivod placed third with her 53.92-meter (176-11) throw while Sabine Kopplin rounded out the group, throwing 46.20 meters (151-7).
For the men’s team, Tomas Kruzliak posted a 69.
