Sam Rogers accepts invitation to represent Virginia Tech in the Reese’s Senior Bowl

Some good news came out Monday regarding the Virginia Tech football program as senior fullback Sam Rogers accepted in invitation to the Reese’s Senior Bowl, held on January 28 in Mobile, Al.

Rogers was one of the first 12 players announced for the annual game showcasing the top senior players for the NFL Draft.

Rogers, a former walk-on, has carved out quite a career in Blacksburg. He’s played in 49 career games, rushing for 547 yards and two touchdowns, while catching 61 passes for six more scores in his career. The former high-school quarterback is also 3 of 4 passing the football for 35 yards and another score.
