There were not many sticky points on the offensive side of the football in Justin Fuente’s first year at the helm at Virginia Tech. However, if there is one area where the Hokies could improve, it would be regarding the production at the running back position heading into 2017.
Junior running back Travon McMillian is looking to bounce back after a sophomore slump in 2016, but will not be handed the job despite the most experienced player at the position. Deshawn McClease could fill a pass catching role, Steven Peoples is likely to be the power back in the offense, while freshman Jalen Holston remains a wild card who could take the position over if he plays well in his first season on campus.
