Quartet of Virginia Tech baseball players selected in MLB Draft

It took some time, but four members of the Virginia Tech baseball team were selected in the 2025 MLB Draft in Atlanta on Monday. Pitchers Mathieu Curtis, Griffin Stieg (who transferred to Alabama earlier this month), and Andrew Sentlinger, along with outfielder Jared Davis, were selected for the next level.

Curtis was picked by the Atlanta Braves in the 14th round and 427th overall. After transferring from USC Upstate, the right-hander went 3-2 this past season for John Szefc with a 5.35 ERA in 38.2 innings pitched and 49 strikeouts in 26 appearances.

Davis was picked by the Athletics in the 17th round and the 500th pick of the draft.
