The senior draws five walks against Appalachian State pitching
BLACKSBURG – Just a few days before seniors are recognized at English Field, a pair of them cemented their names in the Virginia Tech baseball history books in the Hokies’ 13-4 victory over Appalachian State in nonconference action Tuesday evening.
Erik Payne tied a school record set more than 50 years ago when he drew a walk each of the five times he came to the plate in the game. Wayne Taylor first set the record of five bases on balls on March 24, 1964 versus Michigan State.
