Panousis named espnW's National Player of the Week

BLACKSBURG, Va. – Virginia Tech junior guard Vanessa Panousis has been named the espnW National Player of the Week as voted on by ESPN analysts.

Panousis totaled 37 points in the two wins, scoring 21 of those in the final quarter of each game to help the Hokies secure the wins. The Sydney, Australia native was a perfect 14-of-14 from the free throw line in the two games, including 10-of-10 in the final minutes of both contests.

Against the Lady Vols, Panousis dropped in a season-high 21 points while shooting 62.5 percent from outside the arc on 5-of-8 from long range.
