BLACKSBURG – Regan Magarity knocked down 24 points and grabbed a career-high tying 17 rebounds to help propel No. 18/20 Virginia Tech women’s basketball team past North Carolina 76-68 on Monday evening at Cassell Coliseum. The Hokies improve to 14-0 on the season and 1-0 in the league.
Magarity’s numbers mark the 20th time in program history a Hokie has tallied 20+ points and 15+ rebounds and just the second time in ACC play. Kerri Gardin had 22 points, 16 rebounds in 2005 against Florida State.
Sidney Cook and Chanette Hicks added double-doubles of their own.
