The No. 12 Virginia Tech women's soccer team defeated Georgetown on Sunday with a 2-1 victory. With this win, the Hokies have improved their record 8-0-1 for the season.
Both goals were scored near the end of each half, one by Candace Cephers and the second by Laila Gray. Goalie Kaylyn Smith recorded five saves in the win. The Hokies were without Murielle Tiernan for the second consecutive game, who is out with an injury. However with their leading scorer out, the Hokies have seemed to have no problem as they also defeated Davidson at home on Thursday night.
