Motuapuaka named to Polynesian College Football Player of the Year Watch List

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech senior linebacker Andrew Motuapuaka has been selected to the watch list for the Polynesian College Football Player of the Year award. The award is presented annually to the most outstanding Polynesian college football player that epitomizes great ability and integrity.

Motuapuaka, a 2016 second-team All-ACC selection by the league’s coaches, led the Hokies and ranked 11th in the ACC last season with 114 total tackles. He finished with 5.5 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, three interceptions, seven passes defended and two fumble recoveries. The Virginia Beach, Virginia native is the lone ACC student-athlete on this year’s watch list.
