ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. – Virginia Tech senior Jonathan McLaughlin has accepted an invitation to participate in the 2017 East-West Shrine Game.
McLaughlin will represent the Hokies, who have now sent at least one player to the event for five straight seasons. Last year, DT Luther Maddy played for the West Team, while Detrick Bonner was named a captain for the game in 2015. Derrick Hopkins played in the 2014 game and Marcus Davis and Corey Fuller were in the 2013 contest.
The Mauldin, S.C, product has started all 12 games for Tech this season and was named a third-team All-ACC offensive tackle by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association on Monday.
