Marshawn Williams Hangs Up His Cleats

After three major knee injuries in his career at Virginia Tech, Marshawn Williams announced via Twitter that he was thankful and grateful for the Hokies’ and their fans.

Here is his statement via Twitter:

“Thank you to the Hokie Nation for all the love, this is the best place to be and the best fans in the nation hands down.”

Virginia Tech made the announcement that Williams will take a medical disqualification due to persistent knee problems, meaning he’ll no longer play football but remain in school and on scholarship.

Here is the statement from the Hokies and Williams:

“I’d like to thank coach Frank Beamer, coach Justin Fuente and their staffs for giving me the chance to live out my dream of playing college football at Virginia Tech.
