When James Franklin was at Penn State, he had a lot of success recruiting and was able to land a lot of four-star recruits. After being hired at Virginia Tech in mid-November, he hit the ground running in terms of recruiting and flipped a lot of the Class of 2026 committed to State College to Blacksburg.
He also flipped some recruits from other conferences and had already built a Top 25 class. As far as the Class of 2027 goes, he is once again returning to his Penn State roots to begin building a class. Last week, he reportedly hired Danny O'Brien, his quarterback coach with the Nittany Lions at Virginia Tech, and like his boss, he's hitting the ground running.
