The Hokies hosted the 14th place Boston College Eagles on a snowy Sunday night in Blacksburg, as they pulled off an 85-79 win. At one point in the first half, Virginia Tech was on fire and led by 18 points but the Eagles found themselves back in the game by virtue of some hot shooting of their own.
It was evident that the Hokies were locked in on their shots just minutes into the game as Ty Outlaw, who started his fourth straight game in place of Chris Clarke, drained his first two three-point attempts. In addition, Justin Bibbs seemed to get out of his shooting slump for at least this game, going 4-5 from three and 6-9 overall.
