Hokies set program-record for 3-pointers in win over George Mason

BLACKSBURG - The Hokies set a program-record with 14 made 3-pointers as they pulled away from George Mason in the second half on Sunday afternoon for the 80-63 victory at Cassell Coliseum.

For the second straight game, the Hokies used a big offensive third quarter to pull away from the Patriots as they outscored them 29-14 in the period. Vanessa Panousis tied a Cassell women’s record with six made 3-pointers as Tech shot an impressive 51.9% from deep.

The Hokies, in the midst of playing four of their first five games at home, move to 2-0 on the season while the Patriots fall to 0-2.
