Hokies RB Marshawn Williams Out for the Season

Virginia Tech’s rushing offense has been a sticking point for much of the season, and it appears that may continue moving forward with one less playmaker in the fold.

Redshirt sophomore running back Marshawn Williams has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to another knee injury, according to head coach Justin Fuente. The severity of Williams’ injured knee is not yet known.

Williams burst onto the scene for the Hokies as a true freshman in 2014, rushing for 475 yards and four touchdowns in nine games prior to tearing his left ACL.

In 2015, Williams seemed to be making steady strides in his recovery, but then suffered a setback in his rehab which caused him to miss the entire season.
