Kit Scheetz effective again against Tar Heels, but this time suffers the loss
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – In the same pitching matchup as last year’s series opener, which was won by the Hokies, No. 11 North Carolina’s Zac Gallen was able to outduel Virginia Tech’s Kit Scheetz this time and led the Tar Heels to a 6-0 victory to begin the ACC series between the two schools on Friday night at Boshamer Stadium.
Scheetz was just as effective in this start as he was in his regular-season start a year ago when he picked up the win in an 8-3 contest.
