BLACKSBURG – The Virginia Tech women’s basketball team (1-0) defeated the Wagner Seahawks (0-1) 99-32 Friday afternoon from Carilion Clinic Court at Cassell Coliseum. It was the fifth consecutive season-opening win for the Hokies.
Taylor Emery led seven Hokies in double figures with 20 points on 4-for-6 shooting from beyond the arc. Alexis Jean added 16 while Kendyl Brooks and Regan Magarity each tallied 12.
“It was a great start,” said Kenny Brooks. “Obviously when you have so many new faces you have no idea what to expect.
