Hokies get past Yellow Jackets 68-62

BLACKSBURG – Virginia Tech used an 8-0 spurt early in the fourth quarter to reclaim the lead at 57-52, which it would not relinquish as the Hokies won their third league game of the season Thursday night on Carilion Clinic Court.

The Hokies moved to 14-7, 3-5 on the season ahead of Sunday’s clash with Miami.

“Obviously it’s a good win for us,” head coach Kenny Brooks said postgame. “I’m very proud of the kids but also happy for them. Georgia Tech is a good basketball team, very physical, probably the most physical team in the league and to be able to endure that physicality and still come away with a win is really big for our program.
