The fifth-ranked Hokies women's soccer team fell to 14th-ranked Notre Dame, 3-0 on Friday night. With the loss, the Hokies overall record fell to 14-3-2 and 6-3-1 in conference play.
The match was scoreless going into intermission and continued late into the second half. Notre Dame scored twice in 19 seconds during the 73rd minute of the game to give them a 2-0 lead. The Hokies tried to make a comeback, but were unsuccessful. In the last few seconds of the match, Anna Gilbertson netted in another goal, which led to Notre Dame's 3-0 victory.
