Hokies fall short at No. 3 Louisville 67-56 Sunday afternoon

LOUISVILLE – Asia Durr scored 16 points in the first quarter and Louisville didn’t look back as it beat Virginia Tech (12-4) 67-56 before a crowd of 7,523 at the Yum! Center Sunday afternoon.

The loss drops the Hokies to 1-2 in conference play ahead of its clash against Pitt on Carilion Clinic Court Thursday night.

The Hokies, who trailed by 23 at the break, made a late comeback attempt in the second half where it outscored the Cards 31-19 and shut down Durr. Regan Magarity led the Hokies attack with 14 points on the afternoon, and Alexis Jean and Taylor Emery each scored 12.
