The Hokies were on the verge of amassing 10 ACC wins coming into today’s game against a struggling Louisville side. However, there were two things that Louisville counted on to ensure that would not happen. Virginia Tech has been a bug on the windshield in series history, with an 8-32 record against the Cardinals. Secondly, Louisville had not played well in the last six weeks, and desperately needed a result to regain confidence.
The entire game was tightly contested, as neither team led by more than 10 the entire way. Like the Jan. 13 game in Louisville, Virginia Tech struggled defending Louisville’s length.
