Ryan Tufts with two hits, two runs, three RBIs in defeat at Georgia Tech
ATLANTA – In the final game of a three-game baseball series at Russ Chandler Stadium Sunday afternoon, the No. 22 Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets used an eight-run outburst over the middle three frames to break open the contest against Virginia Tech and then held on for a 16-8 victory.
The Hokies had trailed by nine entering the seventh and scored a single run in the frame, and then plated six more in the eighth – the key hit a three-RBI double by Ryan Tufts – that pulled them to within four at 12-8, but they would get no closer.
