The Hokies will be down 2 players for the start of the 2016 football season.
On Tuesday, it was announced that sophomore DB Adonis Alexander would have to serve a suspension because of a violation of team rules. It's a very unfortunate situation, especially for a team already stretched thin in the secondary. Alexander was a versatile piece on defense that could either play cornerback or safety in a pinch (did both in the spring game). He also looked to make strides in the offseason and build upon a solid 4-INT freshman season.
The Hokies now have to replace a starter for at least the beginning of the season, maybe even longer depending on how long the suspension lasts.
